A Little Bit of Everything

Whew!
Last week was a busy one and this weekend wasn't about to go slow enough in order for me to catch up on my To-Do list before it gets only longer this week.
This week is my final week of courses at the University of North Dakota as next fall I will be student teaching. As listed in the pages section of this blog, you'll see student teaching has its own page. There's nothing there- yet, but this fall I'll be student teaching in second grade! I'm beyond excited. So excited that while on Friday it was a little under the weather with some chillier weather and mostly cloudy skies, I found myself bonding with my inner crafter and made a personalized tee-shirt... which turned into two...three... four! And then there was an Etsy page made because honestly (though maybe a little biased) they turned out so stinkin' cute that I thought I'd share. Below are some pictures. Feel free to visit my Etsy store (https://www.etsy.com/shop/MissJohnsonTeaches) and find one that's a must-have.

This weekend I also kicked off my first Teachers Pay Teachers sale. I was super nervous to do this... but at some point, there's a first for everything and without just jumping in the water, we're simply prolonging it. Well, the sale was so great. As a seller, it was super exciting to hop on and look at my dashboard and statistics and as a teacher, I was elated to know that so many teachers were finding my products useful and were able to find ways to fit them into their own teachings and curriculum.
On another hand, recently Minnesota deemed all schools to remain closed for the rest of the school year. Even more recently, North Dakota did the same. As I mentioned earlier in this post, since I'll be student teaching this coming fall, I'm forced to think about the what-ifs of schools remaining closed for the first part of the school year. The cooperating teacher that I will be student teaching under has been using Seesaw with her class and the teacher that I'm currently observing for my field experience is also using Seesaw. I'm fortunate to be able to become as comfortable as I am with Seesaw in just these last few weeks that I think it's a really great resource for this current season that we are in. I'd love to know what resources you're using in your classroom or which mode of teaching your child's teacher is using in their classroom, simply comment below. Just thinking about teaching remotely next fall has me a little nervous but I also think of how grateful I am to be in second grade where hopefully the students were exposed to online learning in first grade this spring. Kudos to you, kinder teachers!

Xoxo,
Miss Johnson
